No! I will never forget.
I will never forget getting up early rushing to get me and 3 small kids ready for work/school.
I will never forget my mom calling with ” OH MY GOD NEW YORK IS UNDER ATTACK”
I will never forget running to turn on my tv to see every channel showing one of the twin towers on fire saying how a plane was hijacked and flew into it. Not realizing a second plane was soon to follow.
I will never forget wondering what the hell an airplane was doing heading towards the second tower.
I will never forget the sound of the reporters voice. The sound of pure disbelief as he along with the rest of the world saw the second plane go right into the tower.
I will never forget how I actually saw death. Not the moments after it happened but AS it happened.
I will never forget how that was all anyone watched that day.
I will never forget how that was all anyone talked about that day.
I will never forget how quiet the sky was for the first time.
I will never forget making the mistake of continuing to watch the news and saw a person fall from the twin tower. Knowing that they felt was their only escape.
I will never forget how I had to turn off everything off and just want to be with my three kids.
I will never forget how I cried a lot that day and my kids to small to understand why. And yes I still cry. It kills me to know how these people died.
I will never forget how the next day I found it hard to celebrate my birthday knowing of what all went on the day before.. Knowing how people were looking for their loved ones who were in the towers or planes. Mourning those they knew were lost.
I will also never forget how horrid people treated Arabic people after it was found out that the group of people that did this was Arabic. I will never forget my friend from Yemen who came to this country because he didn’t agree with his country president. He had to seek asylum. He was the sweetest, nicest man who would absolutely do anything for anyone. He was a truck driver that had to hid because after 9/11 was now being attacked himself. Called names such as terrorist. He kept saying how it was them not him and why would they be mean to him. A few bad does NOT make them all bad.
But despite that part of it….
I will never forget how we actually came together as a country. How we all should our love and support for one another. How we donated our time, blood , money ect…. for those who needed it in New York.
I will never forget how we all acted like AMERICANS.
I will never forget the bravery of the flight 93 passengers. How they died fighting for their lives yet saving lives.
I will never forget all those people that died that horrible day.
I hope you will never forget. And I hope you will show the same kind of love today that we all had 19 years ago.
