I have a fantastic weekend. Been a minute since I was able to say that about any day of the week. I helped the younger kids make a fort in the living room. That made their day considering the fact that their mom is a neat freak and a fort makes a room especially the living room look a bit messy. But I have to say I am very impressed on my fort building skills. Actually its nothing fancy. I did the best with what I had and yet to them it was the best fort ever made.

The kids were good. None of their “Mom! C looked at me” or “Mom! G touched my food”. ” Mom! M wont let me play the game”. I cleaned house and was able to relax a bit.

Sunday I got up early. Saw my two youngest asleep in their “fort”. I woke up my teen son and told him it would be in his best interest if he got dressed. See, he has been taking advantage of summer break. Staying up real late playing video games only to wake up at 4 pm. After a few minutes he meet us in the car. We drove to another town to put up our grocery order. I was happy to see that our entire order was fulfilled. But here was the reason I made my son go… We were getting coffee. Pumpkin Spice Latte. Our favorite seasonal drink. And if he did not get up he would not get one.

Yes! We are so these people. We are at Starbucks the moment these delicious fall drinks hit their stores. Sure, its a bit early but who doesn’t need that one little thing to make you happy these days.

Got home, made breakfast and cleaned a bit around the house. We watched The Never Ending Story together. Kids complained about the movie. They hate the way movies looked back in the 80’s. I loved the movie, I loved the 80’s and I loved Noah Hathaway ( Atreyu).

Considering that in a few days I will be forced to home school 4 kids and I have to fight to wake up kids who this whole summer refused to get up before 11 am that I deserve one good peacefully weekend. So not looking forward to school by no means. Please Pray!
